People Scare Me

Watch this video, and then read on.

Really! Really?! This stuff always gets to me, some politician and or political talk show host who has not had exposure to anyone under the socioeconomic standing of "upper middle class" and who then goes on to comment on a video game, a video game she/he has clearly never played. Just to make sure I cite my sources before I continue on this tirade, I got this from a Kotaku article that can be found here. I would also like to add that I have no intention of insulting Glenn Beck in this post, I am simply enraged at all media outlets who comment on video games without ever having seen the games they are talking about.

Firstly, I must give it to Beck. He at least is insulting all media instead of just video games. He cites other forms of media, such as various shows etc. etc. But this so called "defender of America" seems to want to censor all of these things and put us all in a white room with a bible (freedom of speech is silly.)

The thing that really pinches my nerves is the amazing amount of inaccuracy's he throws the viewer's way. For anyone who has played GTAIV, Niko is in fact a former soldier, and a lot of the more touching cut scenes have a strangely anti-war tinge to them. I simply cannot express how obnoxious this Fox-news-esque reporting is. I sometimes wonder if such ultra conservatives realize that, were their proposed plan of mass censorship to go through, they would be out of a job.

I really just cannot express clearly how much/why this angers me so much, but I believe it is quite easy to understand, as I assume anyone who has the misfortune of reading this is a gamer. Sorry if this is not my top quality work, but I am raiding at the same time heh >.>

Have to Start Somewhere

Well, I suppose this would be the part where I would start saying something relevant. So, to start you off, I would like to inform you that you have had the misfortune of somehow managing to find my blog, and, to make matters worse, you are now reading it. Some may be questioning the name of my blog at this point, and to explain that, I must first explain myself to some extent. I am into video games, and most other forms of media. As such, that will be the focal point of this blog, video games and other forms of media. If you have read this far, you likely know that World of Warcraft is one of the biggest games out to date. In my guild in WoW, we have a phrase; "Raiding is hard. Sometimes there is fire. You have to move out of the fire." And it is with this phrase in mind that I make this blog. While the phrase may not directly relate to video games, it makes me happy. And I am selfish.

The phrase makes fun, in a way, of what I love to do, not just in WoW, but in all video games. It takes something that is obvious to the utmost extent, something that has no need to be said out loud, but makes up a large part of the subject it pertains to. And this is what I enjoy so much about the phrase. It completely debases and oversimplifies everything about video games. However, after typing out that tirade, I realize that you probably do not care.

So, back to the blog. I hope to try and post daily, other matters permitting. You can expect reviews, opinions, and even my occasional, and quite pathetic, attempts to cover news, all mixed in with random tidbits that will manage to leak out of my brain and onto the tubes. I hope you enjoy your time here, and I think you for visiting the site.

Edit: sorry about some spelling errors, wrote this at 11, and on my laptop that doesn't have firefox =P
